[FEATURE] CNY 2016!

Happy Chinese New Year! Gong Xi Fa Cai! Gong Hei Fat Choi! Keong Hee Huat Chye!

As we go through the day filled with joyous celebrations and delicious food accompanied by our loved ones, let us also be mindful of our food waste, and those who might not be as fortunate as we are this season.

If you have any access food after today’s celebrations, the SFSS committee encourages you to donate them! Here’s an excerpt from an article published during the same period last year.

Food Bank co-founder Nichol Ng told The Straits Times: “As long as the goodies are not opened and not expired, we will accept them even after CNY is over.”

“During CNY, people exchange gifts and tend to give more, then we have more than what we need. It’s nice to be able to share our surplus food with the less privileged.”

People can drop off their food donations at Food Bank’s warehouse at Tanjong Pagar Distripark, City Square Mall or Quayside Isle mall in Sentosa Cove.

As always, stay tuned for more information!
